COVID-19 Service Requirements for HVAC

COVID-19 Air Conditioning Service. Many company workplaces are now reopening following the COVID-19 lockdown. We therefore wanted to update you on suggested safe practice for all of your HVAC plant. This protects you and your employees on your return to work.

It is strongly suggested by the BESA that all air conditioning and ventilation which has laid dormant over the lockdown is serviced and deep cleaned. This will improve air quality and disinfect units, eradicating old bacteria in the system. On top of this, units can hold a small quantity of standing water and therefore a possibility of legionella. Flushing the system will make units safe to use and give peace of mind to your employees.

We are taking appropriate steps to ensure the working practices of our teams. Our standards meet all current HVAC, building industry and government advice on safe working practices. This ensures we continue to protect you, your environment and our teams.

”Any airborne contaminants can be minimised, if not eliminated, by proper and effective filtration and regular cleaning and maintenance of ventilation systems. A clean ventilation system is an essential part of a building. It is essential that any ventilation system serving a building where confirmed cases have been diagnosed are sanitised in accordance with best practice, and that any buildings where no cases have been confirmed have their ventilation system cleaned to industry best practice as a preventive measure during this time and ongoing”
